The release of the film on January 23rd coincided roughly with the 77th Republic Day of India. Together, the patriotic emotion, nostalgia, and the extended weekend have proved to be commercially fruitful for the movie. Its domestic earnings have now reached ₹180 crore after Monday.

Reportedly, Border 2 opened to the highest Republic Day earnings. The movie earned ₹59 crore on Monday. The figure is the highest single-day earning for the movie so far.

Within only four days of its release, the movie has surpassed the ₹250 crore mark internationally. On Monday, it beat the lifetime collections of massive, stellar releases such as Sikandar (₹184 crore) and Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 (₹243 crore). Now, it is eyeing yet another milestone – ₹300-crore mark. At the pace Border 2 is running, the movie is likely to reach the figure by just Wednesday, January 28th.
Is Border 3 Coming Soon?
Border 2’s astronomical success, at least from the figures received so far, seems to have encouraged its makers to come up with yet another venture – Border 3! In a conversation with a leading media house, the producer Bhushan Kumar informed that Border 3 is work in progress. Although yes, it is not the immediate project of his production company.
