Bollywood actor and Nawaab Saif Ali Khan is all set to make a spine-tingling return in the upcoming Netflix original movie, Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins, which is scheduled to arrive on April 25, 2025
This action-packed heist thriller is Khan’s comeback to the screen after he recovered from a stabbing incident in the early part of this year
Directed by Robbie Grewal and Kookie Gulati, the movie is about a professional thief, played by Khan, who is hired by an underworld don to steal the elusive African Red Sun diamond. What starts off as a carefully executed heist turns into a game of survival and deception
The cast includes Jaideep Ahlawat as the powerful villain, Kunal Kapoor, and Nikita Dutta in lead roles. The ensemble cast is a combination of old and new talent, which goes to make this thriller a tightly wound one full of twists and turns.
The movie is the reunion of Saif Ali Khan and producer Siddharth Anand after 17 years, their earlier ventures being Salaam Namaste and Ta Ra Rum Pum. The shooting started in March 2024 in Mumbai and Budapest and finished in May 2024. Further reshoots were carried out in November and December 2024 by Kookie Gulati

At promotional interviews, co-star Kunal Kapoor lightheartedly called Saif Ali Khan “a pain” for showing up late and sometimes being ill-prepared for the shoot. Kapoor joked, “He was always late, and when he did arrive, he didn’t know his lines,” causing giggles from the cast and crew
Kapoor also recalled feeling alone while on set, as his character frequently worked alone from the central group, causing a feeling of loneliness on set.
Earlier this year, Khan suffered a personal setback when he was attacked at his Mumbai home, receiving multiple stab wounds. Following emergency surgery and a recovery period, the actor has made an impressive comeback to the industry, with Jewel Thief being his first big project after recovery.
